Some issues that are easily overlooked in 3D printing

Some issues that are easily overlooked in 3D printing
When we use a 3D printer, we first need to build a 3D model. When designing a 3D printing model, especially for complex industrial or large-size 3D model designs, we always have some misunderstandings about this. Therefore, when using a large-size 3D printer, we should pay attention to the following issues.

1. Ignore the filament diameter properties
Different large-size 3D printer wires have different properties, some of which are easy to break, some are strong, some are highly plastic, some have rough surfaces, some have high density, some have low density, etc....... This means that at the beginning of the 3D printing model design, the first thing to consider is what material will be used. For example, if you want to print a 3D printing model with ceramic powder, then you need to consider the properties of the ceramic powder material, and then consider the design of the 3D printing model, for example, how to design the overhanging part, the corner... 3D FDM printer filament directly determines what principles the 3D model design should follow.

2. Ignore the wall thickness
So far, the main reason why many 3D model prints cannot be successfully printed is related to the wall thickness setting. If the wall thickness is too thin, small parts on the model cannot be printed, or they are fragile and easy to break.

3. Ignore STL file resolution
For 3D model printing, the most common file format is STL, which means that your 3D printing model can be converted into multiple triangular facets in 3D space. Most 3D model design software supports converting the model to STL format and setting it to the desired resolution.

Choosing the right file high resolution is important for print quality.

Low-resolution STL format file: Low-quality file output can never print a good model. Low resolution means that the triangles in the STL file are too large, and the surface of the 3D model is not smooth, which will cause some "mosaic" when printing.

Very high-resolution STL format file: Very high resolution will make the file too large, and sometimes it is difficult to operate, resulting in many details of the model cannot be well restored. This is why it is recommended that you try to keep the STL file below 100MB.

4. Ignore software usage rules
Different software has different usage rules, such as wall thickness settings, which are automatically set in some software, while in some other software, you have to set it manually.
You need to make some preparations, according to different software, such as whether the model is waterproof, whether the wall thickness is appropriate, how to set the print size, etc.

The above rules may seem complicated, but once you master them, you can easily design 3D printing models.
